The Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE) will be proficient in:
  • Designing interoperable Layer 2, 3, & 7 wireless LAN security systems
  • Implementing wireless LAN connectivity and security solutions
  • Designing and implementing an interoperable, scalable, and secure system for wireless LAN roaming
  • Using wireless LAN protocol analyzers for performance analysis, security solution verification, and 802.11 wireless LAN frame and process analysis
  • Locating and correcting faulty wireless LAN connections, and identifying RF jamming and data flooding attacks
  • Demonstration of a thorough understanding of wireless LAN interoperability and Quality of Service

Exam #PWO-400:

Exam #PW0-400 will be a practical, hands-on exam delivered by the CWNP Program and will require expert knowledge of all 802.11 related wireless LAN technologies in the areas of site surveying, design, installation, management, security, analysis, troubleshooting, and integration with traditional wired networks. Candidates will have a total of 8 hours to complete the assigned lab exercises, and will be graded on a pass/fail basis immediately upon completion of the exam.

Certified Wireless Network Expert (CWNE)

The CWNE credential is the final step in the CWNP Program. By successfully completing the CWNE practical examination, network engineers and administrators will have demonstrated that they have the most advanced skills available in today's wireless LAN market.

The CWNE (Certified Wireless Networking Expert) credential is the final step in the CWNP Program. By successfully completing the CWNE practical examination, network engineers and administrators will have demonstrated that they have the most advanced skills available in today's wireless LAN market.

Passing this intense practical exam assures that the individual has mastered all relevant skills to administer, install, configure, troubleshoot, and design wireless network systems. Packet analysis, intrusion detection, performance analysis, and advanced design are some of the areas of expertise for a CWNE. An in-depth understanding of both wireless and wired network technology is essential to successfully passing the CWNE exam.

Once a candidate has earned the CWNE certification, this candidate is exempt from CWNP recertification requirements.
